Thats exactly what, over the past seven years, we have been trying to find out.

The simple answer is that we are Misty and Bryce Murph'Ariens.  Well...it's not that simple.  Even our last name requires explaining, and it will be, in due course. 

In the consumer paradigm everyone has neat definitions of who they are like teacher, doctor or lawyer.  Well, in our world, it's more than that.  Let me explain why.

We are the founders of the Territory of Ultima Thule.  We are chefs and caterers.  We are artists and artisans.  We are farmers and homesteaders.  We are Optimists.  We are permaculturalists.

​

Our life changes day by day, and we don't do anything in the regular way.  We live off-grid on a 9 acre property where we raise animals and cultivate plants in an attempt to eventually become self-sufficient.  We have spent the last seven + years together learning how to live sustainably, through research and a lot of practical experience.  It is our eventual goal to build a castle, and from it teach the principles of permaculture to all who are interested.  We combine ancient and old-world techniques with modern technology to affect a modern, yet environmentally-friendly way of doing things. It is our greatest wish to bring about a new renaissance of spiritual and practical enlightenment.

What is The Territory of Ultima Thule?  It is what we have named our little slice of paradise.  We chose the name because it means 'The last inhabitable place'.  It is a sort of Utopia (the impossible place).  We refer to it as a Territory because its inhabitants have a culture much different from those surrounding it.
